20 MPH Speed Limit Trial for Belfast Road at Model Primary School.
20 MPH Speed Limit Trial for Belfast Road at Model Primary School.
It is very positive news to hear that the Dept of Infrastructure has granted passed a scheme that will allow for speeds to be limited to 20 mph at the Model School along Belfast Road.
Traffic speeds in this area have been a problem for far too long and sadly accidents have been all too common. The new scheme will be the Model School receive funding the trial part time traffic management with electronic signs in use warning drivers of the new speed limit at school opening & closing times. This will be enforced by the PSNI.
This project is a positive step in the fight to tackle speeding across the Borough and helping to keep our children safe.
I recently met with Roads Service to discuss speeding on the North Road & around Larne Road leading to Eden Primary particularly in the mornings and have asked them to give serious consideration to implementing a similar scheme in this area. I will keep you updated with any progress.
As always any concerns re: traffic etc locally please let me know and I will happily raise it on your behalf.
